A major change in airline travel and hospitality was sparked off by Nicholas Bredimus, who brought them together with the software world to establish a new way to do business. Anyone could have anticipated, of course, that with his lineage he was always likely to reach the top. With roots back to classical times, Nicholas’ provenience connects to a great many countries in Europe. On his mother’s side he boasts Scottish and German ancestry. His father’s family, in contrast, hailed from Luxembourg and England, from where his forebears subsequently emigrated in the late 1800s. Naturally, following their arrival in America, the family kept its work ethic and zeal to thrive and survive. His creation of aircraft maintenance computer programs, now commonplace throughout the entire air travel sector while initially produced for one specific firm, led to what is even now his best known program. He would look next at taking and recording bookings. For both air travel and hotels he designed software systems to offset much of the work that had been involved until automation. He went on to code a piece of software trademarked as QuikTix, the first automatic ticket ordering network.
