The development of Hackney Wick can now be seen on film after new photos of the Olympic media centre were published.
The snaps, released by the Olympic Delivery Authority, show the making of the International Broadcast Centre and the Main Press Centre on the banks of the River Lea. These pictures, taken from webcams constantly monitoring the progress of work here, can be viewed on London 2012 site.
The media hub is expected to be home to nearly 20,000 journalists, photographers, and broadcasters from across the world, who will arrive in London to telecast and report the Olympic games to more than four billion people worldwide.
Leaving all disputes about the venue’s design behind, the Olympic Delivery Authority says the latest photos are poof enough that the structure will be ready by its scheduled 2011 date.
Sebastian Coe, chair of the London 2012 Organizing Committee pointed out that the photos show the commitment of the body in creating a media friendly environment for all media persons coming to the 2012 Olympics. He said this was necessary since billions of sports aficionados around the world depend on media services to see the games and the lively atmosphere created at the time of the Olympics.
The Mayor of Hackney, Jules Pipe, added that the new facility is a great economic investment, which will generate business development and employment for many.
