The Holiday Cottage: the Ideal Holiday Accommodation
Posted in Universe Of Travel at 3:25 am |

Placed conveniently between Manchester and Sheffield, the Peak District is an idyllic escape from the tensions and strains of metropolitan day to day life. If you hail from Sheffield or Manchester, it’s accessible in about an hour going by train or car and a fantastic selection for a weekend break. If you are coming from further afield, we would say it’s better if you stay 4 or 5 days as there’s much to get up to in the Peak area.

A good number of people affiliate the Peak District with the summertime, but it’s picturesque all year round, and nowhere are the four seasons more emphasised than in the Peak area.

As highlighted previously, there is a good deal to get up to in the Peak District. The idyllic hillsides compel travellers out of their accommodation and into their walking boots, and there’s a great deal of trails to walk - as many as 30 clearly marked walks.

To add to that, there’s also lots of areas to try your luck at fishing in the Peak District, in particular the Ladybower expanse. Even if you’re not into physical activities, drive the car and visit Chatsworth House. A good half day is recommended, the gardens in itself you can spend an hour or two in! Or travel to Buxton for lunch and a stroll in the pavilion gardens, or the opera. Finally the villages in the Hope Valley which are pretty .

So how to find accommodation in the Peak area? We strongly advocate renting a Peak District cottage. Cottages are great in that they ensure you have the seclusion of your own place, and the chance to relax with your family in an affable environment. The best place to find accommodation is to go online and search. Type in a phrase such as “accommodation in the Peak District” and one is certain to discover a good deal of possible options.
