In poker, knowing what your opponents will do is a huge advantage. Being able to read your opponents’ minds is an admirable trait, but it’s a pretty hard skill to come by. A good alternative to telepathy is to be aware of how your online poker opponents see you. Once you know how they think of you, then you can make educated guesses as to how they will react to you. It’s not that difficult, either-if you want to know just how your opponents see you, make them see what you want them to see.
If you want your opponents to see you in a certain way, make a show of it when you play poker online. If you want to bluff your opponents, you want your opponents to see you as an aggressive player, and a few gutsy raises will have your opponents tiptoeing around you. If want your opponents to open up and start calling your bets and putting some money into the pot, make them think that you’re on the more passive side of things. Start checking and calling instead of betting and raising, and your opponents will feel more confident when you’re in the pot, they’ll start betting and you’ll start seeing some fatter pots.
